Soaring Stages at Monflorite

Hosted by Club Nimbus

Spend your holidays soaring at the Pyrenees enjoying from the landscape both from the air and from the ground, and after flying, chat with glider pilots from internet. You can come with all your family or your friends even if they don't like soaring.

Where is Monflorite and What's around it?

Monflorite is 10 Km. far from Huesca - Spain (the provincial Capital, which is about 250 Km. West from Barcelona and about 400 Km. North from Madrid ). From Monflorite you can easily fly to the Pyrenees and enjoy from the landscape and thermal, ridge and wave soaring (when winds come from the North). If your family or friends don't fly, they can enjoy from several sightseeing areas at the Pyrenees as Sierra de Guara and Ordesa National Park as well as take advantage from the airfield resorts (swimming pool, bikes, pool, etc).
Come with your plane or rent a Twin Astir G103

What to do while not flying?

For your family or friends not flying, or when weather is not good, several other activities could be arranged on request. Such activities could be infield (swimming, pool, bike) or out of the field area (ravine crossing at Sierra de Guara , hiking at Ordesa National Park, heritage visits , etc.). Let me know if you are interested in.

How to reach Monflorite?

Arriving with car from France

Cross the Spanish-French border at Canfranc, proceeding to Jaca, Sabiñanigo and arriving to Huesca. From here, you should take the road going to Sariñena and Fraga (signs are on the road). After 5 Km. you should turn to the left following direction to Alcalá del Obispo (a sign on the road reading "Escuela de Vuelo S.M." at this point). Following this road you will identify a low but extent ridge. At the top you will find a sign showing "Escuela de Vuelo S.M.", turn right at this point and you will easily find reception.
